So the mushers have all left Willow for the restart today. They have not reached the next check point yet.

2010 Mushers
Well sports fans looks like we have 71 mushers this year. For more information on them you can follow the link to http://www.iditarod.com/race/musherlisting.html.
Some interesting stats:
46 of the mushers are from Alaska
13 are from the lower 48 (other US states)
12 are from other countries
The other countries represented include Canada, United Kingdom, Belgium, and Jamaica. Jamaica really surprised me! Never been there personally but not the climate I would think of for training for this race. :)
So yesterday was the ceremonial start for the race in Anchorage and today the racers are restarting the race in Willow. Willow I really like that name and for those curious minds out there no she is not named after the town but it is an interesting conincidence. :)
The racers are taking the Northern Route this year and the total distance to Nome is 1112 miles.

IDITAROD!!! One of my favorite times of year! One cause I absolutely love the race and two cause this means winter is coming to an end! :)
To put you in the mood. I would like to share Hobo Jim's Iditarod song. I have been singing it this week in preparation.

Basement Build Out
So as promised here are the pics of the build out of our basement. We had a long unfinished space down there where we stored all our "valuables". Actually, the boxes of stuff we never went through with our move. :)
With our upcoming new addition we decided we needed more space in the house. Prior to this project we were running our company OEA Brochures out of one of the bedrooms. http://www.oeabrochures.com/ So at the first of the year the construction began. Below is a starting pic and then the finished product. Now we just need to finish moving in and reorganizing.

New Decorations for Willow
Esteban continues to work his creative magic on our little Willow's room! Here is an updated picture. I hope she gets some of his creative/artistic ability!
This has been a busy week as well. I had a baby shower yesterday and our new office and bathroom build out in the basement is FINISHED!!!! Whew! More pics of those to follow.

7 months and counting
So tomorrow will be 31 weeks. Little Willow has been swimming around and honing her soccer skills. I have been feeling pretty good except for the occasional heart burn. Next week is my shower and I really need to work on her room and the house this week!!!

More decorations for Willow
Hello from freezing cold Kansas City! Either I am getting older or this weather is much colder here this year. (Must be the second huh?) So Esteban and I have been hard at work getting Willow's room together. We are also having a portion of our basement built out right now as well. Just one more thing to keep us busy and out of trouble! :) Here are the updated pics of Willow's room. We have not yet taken a new pic of my stomach. That will come tomorrow and we will see whether or not I will put it up here. What a difference a month makes. :)
